Label

The Label object can be used to include on a screen

• a simple text, such as a title or a comment,

  to configure the Label to display some text,
  - right click on the object to access the Menu,
  - select the Settings option

   

  
   

  - then type the desired text in the Caption field located on the first tab (Settings).
   

  Note that it is possible to use a substitution formula within the caption text, for example to display the name of the logged-on user, type in the Caption

  Currently logged user is @username

• a picture, such as an icon or a logo,

  to configure the Label to display an image,

  - right click on the object to access the Menu,

  - select the Settings option,

  - go to the Format tab and click the Image icon as shown

  

  Note that images can be embedded in the Capsule or linked from an external address (a URL or network path).

• a cell value from a Layout such as a number (ex. the sales amount) or text (ex. a text cube or a substitution formula)

  To configure the Label to display a value from a Layout,
  - right click on the object to access the Menu,
  - select the Layout option
  - configure the layout as required then

  - go to the Layout Value tab and drag&drop the block to display in the Selected Block field.

  

   

  Notes

  1. • if a Caption is defined the value from the Layout is written after the caption.

     • if a red/green Alert is defined on the selected block of the Layout then the text color or background is colored accordingly.

The Label object can also execute an action when clicked

• Go To Screen action to open another screen and create a guided navigation across screens,

  to configure link to another screen,

  - right-click on the Label object to access the Menu,

  - select the Settings menu option

  - in the first tab (Settings) select the Go To Screen action and pick the desired screen from the drop-down list.

  

   

• Run Procedure action which launches a Procedure.

   

  to configure the execution of a procedure,

  - right-click on the Label object to access the Menu,

  - select the Settings menu option

  - in the first tab (Settings) select the Run Procedure action and pick the desired procedure from the drop-down list.

  

Examples of Labels

When an action is linked to a Label, the mouse pointer changes to a hand when the user hovers the mouse over it.
