Board version 7.4.2 Release Notes

Upgrade instructions

To upgrade to version 7.4.2, run the server installation program on the machine where Board Server Board is installed. The client PCs where Board Client was installed using the Auto-update option will automatically upgrade at the next connection to the Board Server. The PCs where the Board Office add-in is installed require to be upgraded by running the installation program.

Capsules and databases created or modified with version 7.4.2 cannot be re-opened with older versions of the software.

Refer to the following paragraphs for the list of new features and changes of version 7.4.2.

New Features and changes

• Pager is now reacting to the "return" key refreshing the screen other than the pager
• The calculator in data entry has been improved, allowing users to use their keyboard inside the calculator, without clicking on the on screen calculator.
• An alert message will be shown when changing cube data type in order to avoid data losses (see the screenshot below).

• An alert message for pending data entries has been added when closing the screen, changing the selection or closing Board.
• Improved Suggested Value functionality: it's now possible to clear a value even if the suggested values are taken from an entity.

Board Web Client

The following changes and fixes have been performed on the Board web client:

• Printing the screen from Board Web Client is now more accurate, it can handle correctly @selection formula in print template headers.
• Zoom setting is now kept even when changing screen.
• The selector has been improved, multiple selections are now easier to perform, moreover the "Reset Selector" does not perform the reset of the whole selector, but resets only the selection on the entity on which is performed.
• Fixed an unexpected behavior in the drill to screen function.

Fixes and minor changes

• Occasionally, during excel export, there was a change in the column order. This issue has been fixed.
• Improved the export to excel functionality when exporting a report with Total Alignment and Flattening mode.
• It's now possible to use master layouts with pager and more than 3 layouts.
• Maximized dataviews are now freezing the headers when scrolling down.
• In excel add-in automatic formatting, the definition of before and after symbols was ignored, this has been fixed.
• In excel add-in manual formatting,the definition of before and after symbols used to get lost at refresh, this issue has been fixed.
• Workbook selects in excel add-in were ignored when drilling down, this issue has been fixed.
• Data entries with 5 entities in row were leading to unexpected behaviors when inputting on totals, issue fixed.
• Dataview wrap text option was unstable with 2 entities in row, this bug is now fixed.
• Data entry on totals with flattened dataviews was throwing error, the issue has been solved.
• An error occurring on HBMP dataflow in case of concurrent executions has now been fixed.
• The "get back" option of the "Go to" procedure action was not working after a Show Message step.
• Print as single object procedure was not working on panel objects contained inside a folder object.
• Some formats of the dataview were lost when launching a print session from the  print preview screen.
• Check of user names in user creation is now case sensitive, now it's not possible to create duplicate users (e.g. Smith, smith).
• Writing on RTF cubes for LDAP users were leading to unexpected behaviors, this functionality is now fixed.
• A malfunction occurring when embedding excel worksheets inside other office documents, due to the Board add-in, has been fixed.
• Database security: the button "Apply to All" was not working properly on very long lists of cubes, issue fixed.
• Optimized server-client communication protocol for high-latency networks.
