Introduction

BOARD FC provides templates for Organizations to produce Consolidated Accounts based on input of data from Subsidiaries and associated Organizations (“Reporting Units”).

The system will deal with any number of Reporting Units in any number of Currencies, including conversion to the single “Group Currency” for consolidation.  The system will deal with Actual results, Budget figures and any number of additional Scenarios, e.g. forecasts.

The system will deal with multiple Consolidation Nodes (for different perspectives such as legal or by division/segment) and multi-level group structures (multi-flat models with sub-consolidation nodes ).

One or more subsidiary databases may be set up to hold the general ledger (“GL”) detail of the reporting units including the mapping of accounts to the Accounts required for consolidation.

An Audit Trail Control Panel makes it easy to monitor and manage the consolidation process across the whole

enterprise, highlighting the operations status and certifying internal controls.

BOARD FC provides a comprehensive set of out of the box management and Statutory Reports.

This manual provides a functional specification of the BOARD Financial Consolidation (“BFC”) system.

A typical "How to..." approach will guide the Board Consultant across the implementation process steps, providing both an end-user's perspective as a tech explanation.

Even if we suggest to both Finance and Technical Consultants and Users to read it entirely we could indicate

> Chapter 1 Introduction and How to use the Handbook

> Chapter 2 is pretty technical and suitable for Application Administrator

> Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 are mandatory for Business Users and/or Consultants . Particularly Chapter 4 can be considered the Operator's Manual.

> Chapter 5 is dedicated to Consultants and Developers who needs to customize and/or troubleshoot the Application.

> Chapter 6 is optional and provides some helps to Process Administrators

> Appendix 1 summarizes some key data flows and it is dedicated to Consultants and Developers

> Appendix 2 provides a library of pre-packaged Procedures to quickly implement some popular customizations : suitable to Consultants and Developers

> Appendix 3 provides some inputs for the Team and Project Plan : helpful for PMs or Sales Directors

An Help on Line (http://help.board.com/BFC/B7FC.htm)  is available from the Main Screens of the Application : Help on Line does not include Chapter 5 and Appendixes.
